Software Developer for Enhancing Stability of SQL Server Backup

    We are seeking a Software Developer with very strong C++ and C# coding skills to solve the stability issues with SQL Server backup/restore over WAN.

A streaming solution has been developed for backing up and restoring SQL Server databases to remote servers. This solution involves streaming the backup directly to a file on the target server. Functional command-line server and client executables are available; however, stability issues are being encountered, particularly with restores and large operations over WAN connections. The process often freezes indefinitely, neither continuing nor exiting with an error message. It is suspected that this issue is due to a lack of network streaming optimizations in the current implementation.


Most important/ mandatory skills and experience of the profile requested:
-very strong C++ and C# coding skills
-very strong skills and experience in Network streaming and SQL VDI
-very strong Socket programming skills
-very good English communication skills

Main task/activity:
Fixing/optimizing the current solution to have a stable running solution.

Other tasks and activities:
-Review the current solution
-Find out possible root causes for the issue
-Rebuild a stable solution with a documented code
